Event Overview
Timberline and Mt. Hood Skibowl have teamed up to bring the latest and greatest pass for winter snowsports on Mt. Hood. Winter Season 2006-2007 marked the beginning of this partnership which offered an unrestricted pass with the flexibility of riding lifts at either area, seven days a week. To celebrate the enthusiasm generated via the partnering of these two great ski areas, Timberline and Ski Bowl will fuse even further to bring an annual event series to their snowsport enthusiasts.
The series of competitions will play out over the course of eight weeks, alternating weekly between Timberline and Skibowl. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be awarded for winners of individual events, and cumulative grand prize winners.
The "Fusion-8" Event Series is an open contest that will feature events for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, all having equal opportunity to win individual event prizes. There will be a Mens and Womens ADULT category for all participants 15 years of age and older. There will also be a Girls and Boys JUNIOR category for all particpants 14 years of age and younger.
Both Timberline and Ski Bowl are established on-snow competition venues hosting events ranging from the grassroots level to global spectacles. This new event series will be comprised of the following 8 individual competitions: Slopestyle, Slalom, Skier/Boarder X, Speed Trap, Rail Style, Giant Slalom, Halfpipe, and Obstacle Course.
Running every Sunday from January 20 through March 9, 2008, it promises to be an enthusiastically welcomed event series by Mt. Hood skiers and riders.
Event Entry Fee
Event entry is FREE for Fusion Season Pass Holders. $5 per event Entry Fee for all others. $30 Full Series entry fee for all others. You can register at the beginning of any of the events - just look for the Fusion-8 registration table. You will need to sign a liability release form (those under 18 need a parent/legal guardian signature). Please note: Entry fees are separate from lift access, which you'll also need to get to the event sites. If you don't have a season pass, you'll need to buy a lift ticket as well...
Event Scoring
Points will be given out to each participant after individual events, and recorded with their name on the Fusion-8 Leaderboard. Top cumulative point winners will be awarded the grand prize packages (one overall male winner and one overall female winner in both our Junior and Adult categories).
